PUTRAJAYA
CITY MANAGEMENT CENTRE
The
Centre for Excellence has delivered the
technology solutions to Putrajaya's City Management Centre.
The project will enable Putrajaya to monitor, control,
coordinate and manage the various public facilities and amenities
such as roads, traffic lights, intelligent signages, CCTVs,
information kiosks, bridges and public parks using the CFE
Facilities Management System (FMS). The implementation
represents the first time that the three major modules have been
customized and integrated for a local authority anywhere in the
world.
Each of the modules can be produced and customized
depending on the needs and requirements of other customers outside
of Putrajaya. Thus at the same time, the company has plans to be
actively involved in implementing intelligent traffic system (ITS)
throughout the country in the coming five years. These projects
pertain to the development of large integrated traffic systems
networks also under a common control centre. The scope of work
involved could vary from setting out of a single junction under
traffic signal control to a large metropolitan network of signalised
junctions controlled and monitored in real time by a control centre.
ITS encompasses a wide range of systems which when combined,
contribute towards improving the reliability and efficiency of
either the public or private transportation systems. These includes
the deployment of Variable Message Signs (for traveller/driver
information), Highway Management Systems (HMS) that includes Ramp
Metering which allows the authorities to know precisely the volume
of traffic on the highways, CCTVs for remote monitoring and speed
limit enforcement, Vehicle Tracking Systems and Incident Detection
& Management Systems. The use of information and computing
technology enables such systems to operate either in isolation or as
an integrated ITS system module that in turn, can be integrated with
other modules to complete a City Control Centre (CCC).
