The Centre for Excellence's Vote Tracker was developed prior to the 1991 New South Wales Local Government Elections and was first used in 1991 by fifteen Councils and in 1995 twenty-seven Councils and the State Electoral Office checked the manual results of all the Councils. By 1999, every council in the NSW Local Government Returning was using Vote Tracker.
Vote Tracker manages electronically above and below the line voting for either NSW Proportional and Preferential elections in single or multi ward situations. Vote Tracker seamlessly distributes Group ticket preferences advising the returning officer in hardcopy with checklists for the physical allocation to candidates' piles. Vote Tracker provides for popular elected mayors and excludes the successful candidate from consideration for ward or area of a whole election.
Vote Tracker is distributes by CD-R technology using popular installation software as used by larger software companies including Microsoft. Vote Tracker can be customised for each State or Territory to comply with the local statutory laws. Vote Tracker can be used by any election requiring a proportional or preferential voting format.
