Cash Receipting

The Centre for Excellence’s Cash Receipting module is a versatile cash collection application that allows any organization to receive cash, cheque, credit and eftpos payments over the counter, by phone or mail. Tightly integrated with Oracle Financials, it has the ability however to continue to function where the financial application is no longer available, having a unique self-contained server system.

Integrated with Oracle General Ledger, cash collections are fully validated against account codes within the General Ledger before they automatic created as journals within the General Ledger.

Integrated with Oracle Receivables, debts are transparently downloaded and payments made and are transparently upload into Receivables.

Cash Receipting is one component of a suite of integrated applications developed by The Centre for Excellence for Local Government, Building and Manufacturing industries.

Design Philosophy

Cash Receipting has been designed as a flexible and generic receipting system for any type of industry.  Cash Receipting was designed as a self-contained hub between revenue generation, revenue collection and accounting functions. Designed to download expected payments from revenue systems, such as sales, registration and membership systems etc, together with debts from Accounts Receivable systems, Cash Receipting is then capable of communicating the payments receipt with the feeder system. For example, a cashier is able to receipt payments from a single customer for: (a) goods that they wish to purchase together with (b) payments for invoices that have previously been issued as well as (c) a subscription that they might like to renew, all as a single receipt, with payments destined for GL and others for AR.
