Bridge Maintenance

   The Centre for Excellence’s Bridge Management module is an asset inventory module that allows the infrastructure owner to capture information on highway and road structures such as bridges, interchanges, overpasses, vehicular box culverts and river bridges.  Details that can be stored include the asset construction, structural system, decking, superstructure, substructure, maintenance, condition and inspection details.

   Integrated with The Centre for Excellence’s Asset Maintenance module, future maintenance requirements can be determined. Future maintenance requirements for each bridge component are determined by configuring the system with condition deterioration milestones, condition intervention levels, resource requirements and maintenance costs.

   Integrated with The Centre for Excellence’s Activity Based Costing module allows the asset owner to record maintenance activities and maintenance costs and allows the determination of the maintenance productivity of labour gangs, individual employees and the determination of labour and resource requirements.

   Bridge Management is one component of a suite of integrated applications developed by The Centre for Excellence for the Local Government, Building and Manufacturing industries.

Design Philosophy

   Bridge Management was designed for the Local Government and State Government markets to manage the inventory and maintenance requirements of infrastructure owners.

   Combining the relational and data storage strength of the Oracle RDBMS, with the query, reporting and graphical capabilities of Oracle’s Developer suite and the procedural and processing capabilities of C, Bridge Management provides a comprehensive bridge inventory and maintenance prediction tool.
