Parking
Meters
The
Centre for Excellence’s Meter*Manager*2000 module is a
comprehensive tool to manage any types of parking meter, either electronic
or mechanical operation, or a combination of types. Meter*Manager*2000
supplements the cash counting operations by providing an audit trail
over time for each meter providing information regarding site usage,
maintenance, comparison to adjacent groups and setting of pricing policies.
There have been notable fraud cases with
parking meters, for instance at Brisbane City Council and there has been
lack of scrutiny, for instance at Sydney City Council where a meter did not
operate for eighteen months and management was unaware of the
problem.
Meter*Manager*2000 was
initially developed by North Sydney Council for the management of their 500
meters and by agreement to be further developed, enhanced and maintained by
The Centre for Excellence.
The data from cash collections is
transferred electronically to Meter*Manager*2000 and the daily
audit automatically printed for the Council's Manager. Meter*Manager*2000
provides details between dates of weekly and annual income for
individual or all meters, lost cash boxes and meters, cash box discrepancies
and errors, meter collection days, programme groups and items are identified
and with hard-copy reporting.
Design Philosophy
Easy-to-use screens with
logical field sequences, validation and a fully Windows GUI environment
facilitate the capturing and management of application developments. A
comprehensive reporting system and ad-hoc query abilities allows user to
access information stored in the system, quickly and easily.
